Holly Shares Her Appreciation
Even though I had already received a Pell grant to help pay for the welding program, my financial advisor at East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) recommended I also apply to The Rotary Vocational Fund of Arizona for more aid.  I did so as I was trying to be responsible and make sure my finances would not get in the way of being able to complete the 10-month welding program at EVIT, and turning my life around for the better.  After interviewing me, the Mesa Rotary Club agreed to be my sponsoring club so I could be approved for the TRVFA grant which was funded late last summer.

"I just wanted to reach out to let you all know that Welding School at EVIT is going great.  I really enjoy what I'm doing there.  It's fun and trade school was a great decision.  Thanks again for all of the help"

Please Share Your Story
Even though this meme is funny and fictional, we know that many of our TRVFA grant recipients have a similar story that is real to tell.  "A picture is worth 1,000 words,"  We need short "success stories" to post on our website, Facebook page, etc.

Please send us an action photo of yourself in the career your TRVFA grant enabled, and write a couple of short statements about the difference your new vocation has made in your life.  Your story may be the one that inspires a donation or inspires someone to apply for a grant so they can enroll in a vocational education program to turn their life around.
It Might Not Cost Anything to Pay it Forward
If you will have an Arizona State Tax obligation on your state Income Tax Return, a donation to The Rotary Vocational Fund of Arizona of up to $400 for an individual or $800 for a married couple filing jointly could potentially be deducted from that amount as a tax credit.  The benefit to you would be in either paying a correspondingly smaller amount to the state at the time you file or getting the amount of your donation back as part of a larger tax refund from the state.

TRVFA is one of many Qualifying Charitable Organizations for the State of Arizona tax credit program.  Our QCR code is 20698.  Donations made between now and April 15 can be used to offset your tax for the 2019 tax year or the 2020 tax year but not both.

If this is all new to you, check with your tax preparation specialist to see if you would be eligible to help support our vocational education grant program by making a donation.

We need to increase our base of donors as the demand for our grants has greatly increased.  Help us help others by either donating and/or informing others of the tax credit opportunity.
